Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center - Azerbaijan
Bakü, Azerbaijan
Located in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center was designed by Zaha Hadid, one of the most prominent figures in contemporary architecture, and brought to life through CCN Holding’s expertise in engineering, construction, and project management. With its sweeping form, seamless fluid surfaces, and dynamic architectural language that interacts with light, the structure transcends conventional architectural approaches and has become an iconic landmark symbolizing Azerbaijan’s vision of modernization.
With a total construction area of 102,000 m², the cultural complex was designed as a multilayered cultural center that brings together museum spaces, congress and conference halls, exhibition galleries, multipurpose performance stages, and educational units. Bringing different functions together within a seamless architectural whole, the structure was conceived to offer visitors not only a physical space, but also a powerful cultural experience.
The distinctive formal language of the architectural design required advanced engineering solutions and highly precise construction processes. The building’s characteristic curves and wide spans required the meticulous execution of complex geometries, supported by high construction standards and advanced technological applications. In this respect, the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center stands as a flagship project that brings together architectural aesthetics and engineering excellence.
In this project, CCN Holding not only constructed a building, but also played a key role in bringing to life a globally recognized architectural landmark that reflects Azerbaijan’s national identity and contemporary vision. Today, the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center continues to serve as a major destination that shapes Baku’s urban silhouette and brings together art, culture, and architecture, welcoming thousands of visitors through exhibitions, events, and international programs held throughout the year.
